Hecate is a pre-olympian goddess, from what I've read. I have been trying to find info about her in particular. If She is pre-olymipian, where is she from? Maybe the Minoan Civilization. Here's the site I was looking at, if you're interested http://www.hecatescauldron.org/Hecate%20Trivia.htm
Are you talking about the Titans?
No.Pre Olympian gods were before Titan myths.I know that Demogorgon was one of the chthonic gods and I know that they worshipped serpent spirits and many other gods but I didnt find any names and descriptions. That Hekathe is one of them is pretty likely and maybe some other monsters like Chimera,Gorgona and some others may also be pre Olympian.

In my book Chimera is listed under the birth of the titans and was a sister of Hydra. Gorgons are listed there to and were 3 sisters Stheno, Euryale and Medusa. Now all this is listed under the birth of the gods is the start and goes to the birth of the titans where i found these names. The birth of the Gods is the story of Gaia and it leads to the birth of the giant titans, is this what you are looking for? I do have a little more info if its what you want.

You may want to look in a more academic cultural anthropology line . . . you may actually find more in that vein than in occult mythology.
(no offense everyone . . . but as a cultural anthropologist . . . )

The book I have is The encyclopedia of Ancient Myths and Clulture, its like a 4 inch thick history book on 9 different cultures and myths. The undergods where Erebus(underworld) and Nyx(night),think they were the first gods of the underworld. Mine starts out with Gaia and Eros and they made Erebus and Nyx and they made Aether and Hemera and many others pretty hard to list them all trying to narrow it down for you. Keep asking me questions and maybe we will find a answer. Blessed Be.

I did look up demogorgons in this dictionary and it did say it was a god of the underworld. I ment to type gorgons not gordons on that last post. It also stated the Erebus is the underworld/god but think refered to as the underworld. There was a connection between the gorgons and demogorgons don't really know. ss Blessed Be.

So far as I know Demogorgon is primeval creator god which was so terrible that Greeks dared not speak his name.He was associated with night, disease, darkness, death and evil.He had Chaos and Eternity for his closest assistants.

Demogorgon.Demo from Daemon "demon" and Gorgon "terrible" is most common interpretation. It is said that to pronounce his name is to invoke evil and death.
