Anyone recognise this figure?
Anyone recognise this figure?
Ok. This is probably kind of a weird question, but.....does anyone know of a little boy (not someone current, probably a long time ago) who was most likely Hindu or maybe an Indian Buddhist, and wore some kind of hat/headress so was probably either of a priestly or possibly divine nature that could levitate?

An excellent guess, but no, I don't think it was him. The boy I saw was very young, of probably about 6 or maybe even younger, and was already levitating. It doesn't sound like Siddarta was doing anything of a religious or spiritual nature until he was much older. I'm having a hard time finding a picture of the headress he was wearing (funny, I've seen it around lots of times), but I found a picture that has something atleast close to it. Here it is:

It's similar to what she's wearing, but not quite it. And made out of gold. I could also similarly give an example of those toys people buy toddlers with all those colorful rings, one bigger than the other, that are one on top of the other and put around some sort of pillar. Just gold, not colorful, not made of plastic and sized for a person's head.....and of one solid piece.

Re: Anyone recognise this figure?
I thuoght it might be him because there are stories of his childhood where he shows great compassion and kindness and he was said to possess many skills unusual in a child, from a very young age.
A favourite story of his,I read,is Siddhartha and the swan.
Finding out more about that style of headdress will no doubt be useful in your search and I 'm curious now too. [thumbup]

I don't really personally know much about Siddharta. I guess I'll have to look more into him to see if I can find a mention of him levitating as a child. But thanks for pointing me in that direction. Maybe it'll turn out ot be him afterall. I'll let you know if I find anything.
